Community of Hope Housing
Community of Hope Housing (CHH) gives families stability and support by providing apartments and supportive services. CHH offers their clients opportunities to acquire the skills they need to end the cycle of poverty and homelessness and to become self-sufficient. Each family has a case manager who connects them to resources in the community including job training, GED education, mental health assistance, substance abuse counseling, and legal services. Children are assigned a youth advocate to address their needs.
CHH has three housing programs - 20 apartments of temporary housing (with stays about 1 year), 10 apartments of transitional housing that is recovery focused, and permanent supportive housing in sites scattered across the city. Last year CHH served 105 families representing 142 adults and 291 children.
The Clark Construction team building the U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters on the St. Elizabeth's campus recently donated Target gift cards to the 10 families currently living at the Hope Apartments in the Ward 8 District of Southeast, Washington, DC.
