Clark Forms Strategic Partnership Agreement with OSHA
at U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters
The Clark team at the U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters project has signed a Strategic Partnership with OSHA. Through the program, contractors and agency officials work collaboratively to eliminate serious hazards and achieve model workplace standards. There are only two currently in the Washington, D.C., area, with the Clark team at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center holding the second one.
The partnership with OSHA is difficult to obtain as it requires contractors already have an exemplary safety and health program in place. Clark Safety Manager Preston Ward worked closely with OSHA representatives for a year to write and develop the partnership. Their result was a successful agreement signed by OSHA and Clark on May 17, which reflects Clarks commitment to its safety program.
The partnership on the U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters project aims to reduce the number of at-risk conditions and behaviors that could result in worker fatalities, injuries or illnesses, especially those relating to the "Focus 4 Hazards": falls, struck-by, caught-in-between, and electrical hazards.
